WHAT IS FAITH Sunday School Evangelism Strategy?

FAITH is an ongoing, comprehensive (evangelism, ministry and discipleship) training process which functions through your existing Sunday School. FAITH equips and mobilizes Sunday School classes to start or strengthen.

  1. Personal evangelism/training in soul winning
  2. Follow-up of new believers/assimilation
  3. Discipleship
  4. Reclaiming absentees
  5. Ministry to regular attenders
  6. Emphasis on "divine appointments"

WHY DO WE NEED FAITH?

  • Our church is plateaued; we are not reaching our "reaching capabilities."
  • We need a spotlight on our Sunday School, on evangelism and on discipleship.
  • We need to train our people to share their faith.
  • We have been praying for a spiritual renewal.

HOW IS FAITH DIFFERENT FROM OTHER EVANGELISTIC TRAINING APPROACHES?

  • FAITH "marries" Sunday School and evangelism.
  • The FAITH gospel presentation is easy to learn and simple to use.
  • FAITH enables your church to realize more public professions of faith, increased baptisms, and stronger assimilation of new members into your fellowship.
  • FAITH lights a fire of ?soul consciousness? in your Sunday School.
  • FAITH training resources are state of the art and exciting.
  • FAITH is a lay movement that is Pastor-led and Pastor modeled.

WHO IS DOING FAITH NOW?

Twenty-eight SBC churches "originated" FAITH in January of 1998 based on the model used at First Baptist Church, Daytona Beach, Florida. Since August 1998, over 7,000 churches have been equipped at FAITH Training Clinics. Encourage leaders from your churches to register for a clinic today. ANY CHURCH of ANY SIZE with at least one "open" Bible study group, one unsaved person in the community, one Sunday School member needing ministry, and a pastor who is willing to lead, can successfully use the FAITH Sunday School Evangelism Strategy?.

WHAT IS THE PASTOR'S ROLE IN FAITH?

  • To attend a FAITH Training Clinic.
  • To serve as facilitator for new learners each semester.
  • To take a team of persons for evangelism and ministry visits each week during each semester.
  • To learn ways to put a spotlight on the Sunday School, discipleship and on ways God is working.

WHO SHOULD DO FAITH IN OUR CHURCH?

At least one FAITH team should be created, initially, in each age division in your Sunday School (including preschool and children leaders). A FAITH team consists of three people, always a man and woman on each team. A team consists of a leader who has already received training either in a Clinic or by being trained in a semester of FAITH at your church, and two learners who are all members of the same Sunday School unit. FAITH teams reproduce themselves within their unit each semester.

WHEN IS FAITH TAUGHT?

It is taught at a time during the week designated by the church that is best for leaders and learners to receive class instruction, on the job training (visitation), and celebration time. FAITH is not taught during the Sunday School time.

HOW LONG IS FAITH TRAINING?

A FAITH training semester is 16 sessions. This gives each Team Learner opportunity to learn the gospel presentation, see it modeled several times during weekly visitation and get to the point where he or she can lead visits where the gospel is shared. Each weekly session of FAITH, (approximately 3 hours) includes teaching, visiting, and celebrating. A church should plan to conduct two semesters of training each year.

WILL OUR CHURCH MEMBERS PARTICIPATE IN FAITH?

YES! Because:

  • FAITH gives opportunity for believers to focus on kingdom work.
  • FAITH builds people up by allowing them to follow a trained mentor.
  • FAITH creates and strengthens Great Commission Christians.
  • FAITH revitalizes Sunday School and church life.
  • FAITH develops confidence in personal soul winning and in how God is at work.
  • FAITH produces measurable, noticeable results in Sunday School classes.
